In a saucepan combine 1 (12 ounce) package fresh cranberries, ¾ cup sugar, ¼ cup fresh squeezed orange juice and the peel zest from 1 orange.
Heat over medium heat, stirring frequently, until sugar dissolves.
Bring to a boil and reduce heat.
Simmer until cranberries pop, stirring occasionally.
This takes approximately 15 minutes.
Refrigerate.
Once you try this recipe you will never buy canned cranberry sauce again.
